Book Club

November – April we meet on 4th Wednesday each month at 2.30pm in member’s homes.

Group Coordinator – Pamela Sharman 07513 449008.

We are a group of avid readers who meet in each other’s homes. A member will choose a book (usually a couple of months in advance) and then introduce it. We read mostly fiction, with the occasional biography, and the subject matter often sparks off a wider debate. One of our members works in the Library Service and can usually get copies for everyone.

Here are a few books we have discussed:

  • The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul’ by Deborah Rodriguez
  • ‘The Night Circus’ by Erin Morgenstern
  • ‘The Prisoner of Heaven’ by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
  • ‘Miss Garnet’s Angel’ by Salley Vickers
  •  ‘Restless’ by William Boyd
  • ‘A Passage to India’ by E.M. Forster
