November – April we meet on 4th Wednesday each month
2.30pm in member’s homes. We are currently recruiting a new leader as well as new members for the Book Club.
Interested? Please contact Stephanie Scott stephscott50@gmail.com
We are a group of avid readers who meet in each other’s homes. A member will choose a book (usually a couple of months in advance) and then introduce it. We read mostly fiction, with the occasional biography, and the subject matter often sparks off a wider debate. One of our members works in the Library Service and can usually get copies for everyone.
Here are a few books we have discussed:
- The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul’ by Deborah Rodriguez
- ‘The Night Circus’ by Erin Morgenstern
- ‘The Prisoner of Heaven’ by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
- ‘Miss Garnet’s Angel’ by Salley Vickers
- ‘Restless’ by William Boyd
- ‘A Passage to India’ by E.M. Forster
